Unveiling the Power of Sei Hei Ki: The Emotional Symbol in Reiki

Sei Hei Ki is a powerful symbol when used alone or within a Reiki Sandwich.

When it comes to healing practices that encompass both the physical and the emotional realms, Reiki stands as a profound energetic art. At the Second Degree, practitioners are introduced to the first three sacred symbols. Sei Hei Ki being the second symbol explored. Sei Hei Ki is often referred to as the Emotional Symbol. Its main function is to support alignment to our true nature, and it does this by bringing balance and harmony to our emotional and mental bodies. When used in our self practice or with clients, Sei Hei Ki holds a significant place in guiding emotional healing and protection. If you are new to using reiki symbols or are looking for ways to utilize your symbols more often, the following are three areas you can get the most out of working with the second reiki symbol, Sei Hei Ki. I have also included a powerful technique at the end that you can use within your self reiki practice and with your clients.

Clearing Emotional Distortions and Blocks

Sei Hei Ki is revered for its ability to clear distortions and blocks on the emotional level. When we encounter emotional turmoil, it can cloud our judgment, impact our relationships, and even manifest in physical ailments. This symbol works to penetrate these emotional barriers, facilitating a clearer path to emotional equilibrium. It’s like a gentle wind that sweeps away the fog, leaving behind a serene landscape of mental clarity.

A Shield for Matters of the Heart

Not only does Sei Hei Ki assist in emotional clarity, but it also serves as a symbol of protection, particularly for matters of the heart. In our daily lives, we often navigate situations that can leave us feeling vulnerable or emotionally exposed. By activating Sei Hei Ki and projecting it into the aura, one can create a protective barrier that safeguards emotional well-being. Think of it as a shield that guards against emotional harm while allowing love and compassion to flourish.

Healing Emotional Wounds from the Past

Past emotional wounds can often hinder our ability to live fully in the present. Sei Hei Ki, with its profound healing properties, enables individuals to confront and heal these wounds. By working through the past pains, individuals can emerge stronger, with a renewed sense of emotional freedom. So, how can you do that within a reiki session? Try working with the Reiki Sandwich.

The Reiki Sandwich Technique

One of the powerful applications of Sei Hei Ki is within the Reiki Sandwich technique. This involves using Sei Hei Ki alongside Cho Ku Ray and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen to create a potent blend of healing energy.

  • Cho Ku Rei: Known as the Power Symbol, Cho Ku Rei is often used to amplify the energy flow, grounding and balancing the body’s energy system. By starting with Cho Ku Ray, practitioners can create a strong foundation for the healing session.

  • Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen: The Distance Symbol, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, is utilized to send Reiki energy across time and space, making it possible to heal past traumas and emotional wounds. This symbol allows for deep, multidimensional healing.

When these symbols are combined in a Reiki Sandwich, Sei Hei Ki enhances the emotional healing process by clearing distortions and blocks, while Cho Ku Rei and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen fortify the energy and extend the healing across various dimensions. This method ensures that emotional wounds from the past are addressed comprehensively, fostering a sense of emotional renewal and resilience. Whether it’s heartbreak, grief, or lingering sadness, the Reiki Sandwich technique with Sei Hei Ki helps to mend these wounds, allowing for profound emotional transformation.

How to do it:

This technique can be done at anytime during a self care or professional reiki session. It is most effective when all symbols have already been activated. When you create a sandwich, you are layering the symbols to create a constructive collaboration of energy that can be directed into the past, present or future. This is especially powerful when healing emotional wounds from the past.

Step One: Begin by finding the source point in the energetic bodies that calls for deep emotional healing. Most likely, it will present itself to you naturally.

Step Two: Activate the reiki sandwich - repeating the name of the symbols three times in each layer

First Layer – Cho Ku Rei

Second Layer – Sei Hei Ki

Third Layer – Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen

Fourth Layer – Sei Hei Ki

Fifth Layer – Cho Ku Ray

Step Three: Project the sandwich where guided and hold space for a shift. If guided, repeat as needed.

Step Four: Address any other areas that might have energetic debris from this block, and finish your session as you normally do.

Try this technique the next time you come upon an emotional block that is stubborn but ready to shift. Take notes on anything you notice and hold space for any changes you feel would boost this technique with your own unique expression.

When we use the reiki symbols more often in our reiki practice, we begin to build a relationship with them. The symbols are intended to not only deepen our practice, but also fine tune our delivery of the universal life force for more effective results.
